Impressions from Beauty18

Hello ladies,

A few weeks back I got an email with an invite to Beauty18, largest event for the professional beauty industry held, on 3 and 4 March 2018. To be honest with you, I had no idea what was it all about so I decided to make a weekend out of it.

"BEAUTY18 is the largest trade fair for the beauty industry with over 100 stands. The only beauty event in which all sectors of the beauty industry get together for a while, skin care, nails, make-up, service, spa, wellness, etc."

It was held at Øksnehallen, Halmtorvet 11, which if you ever been there is a really big venue, big enough to fit over 100 stands from all sectors of the beauty industry.

Here are just a few of the stands that caught my attention:

GELAMOR® is a professional product line of nail care products of the highest quality. They offer products, service, training and workshops.

ORGANIC BEAUTY SUPPLY - mission is to help Danish consumers acces a far wider range of innovative and exciting organic beauty products and make unknown brands known in Denmark.

Most of their products are organic and olive oil based, so that makes them good for you and your skin.

ODACITÉ is made in California with French finesse that brings together the best of two worlds: performance-driven French skin care and the green, natural revolution from California. Efficiency and purity. You can mix and match serums depending on what your complexion needs.

YASUMI is a brand inspired by the Japanese and have the best quality in skin care products both for professional use in beauty parlors and SPA.

I have been really struggling with writing this article because I had a feeling of disappointment going out of the hall. I felt that something was missing.

But then I realized that I was not fair, not impartial. I was comparing the makeup and beauty fairs that we have back home in Romania to this one. And they are completely different. First thing that hit me was the lack of banners or posters at the entrance. Nothing to let you know that a beauty fair is in full swing, you could have just as easily pas by and not even know what was happening behind the doors at Øksnehallen.

I went to a few hair, beauty and makeup trade fairs in Romania, and the atmosphere was more active and inspiring. You had workshops, free demonstrations and trends, a lot of brands, some of them well-known, some of them not so.

Second thing that I noticed was the lack of well known brands.

In Romania even if it is a fair the big names of makeup (like Makeup Forever, Atelier Paris, Inglot, Melkior, Numeric Proof, Roubloff Beauty and many more) have a stand with sales or promotion.

At Beauty18 makeup was represented by 3-4 stands, Nicci Welsh Makeup Academy, Monalisa Cosmetics Supply, Zerva Cosmetisc by Perfect Body Care.

I noticed that here women and the beauty industry are more focus on the skincare part, which is very good thing, but it is not the only part. What I am trying to say is that I would have liked a bit more balance from "The only beauty event in which all sectors of the beauty industry get together for a while, skin care, nails, make-up, service, spa, wellness."

P.S. Got some new things to try out. 😊

All in all it was a fun and enriching weekend.

Kisses, Julia
